We begin our adventure admiring the majestic Tule Tree, the living being with the widest trunk in the world.

This impressive Montezuma cypress is over 2,000 years old and is considered a sacred site that reflects the strength of nature in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca.

🧶 2. The Art of Color: Teotitlán del Valle

We continue to this Zapotec indigenous town, world-renowned for its extraordinary wool textiles.

🧶 The Process:

Observe how wool and natural dyes—such as cochineal and indigo—are transformed into beautiful rugs, bags, and traditional textiles.

🎨 The Design:

From pre-Hispanic geometric patterns to contemporary designs, all crafted on large wooden looms.

🏛️ 3. The City of the Dead: Mitla Archaeological Site

Our next stop is Mitla, the most important ceremonial center after the fall of Monte Albán.

Its palaces stand out for their intricate stone mosaics (grecas), assembled with perfect precision without the use of mortar—an architectural masterpiece of the Zapotec culture.

🍽️ 4. Oaxacan Gastronomic Experience

After exploring Mitla, we will stop to enjoy traditional Oaxacan cuisine at a buffet-style restaurant.

You will be able to taste a variety of dishes such as:

  • Oaxacan mole

  • Tlayudas

  • Enchiladas

  • Traditional rice and beans

  • Quesillo

  • Regional desserts

💧 5. Sanctuary of Stone and Water: Hierve el Agua

We head into the mountains to discover the spectacular petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua.
